Ingredients
– 2 tuna steaks (about 6 ounces each)
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1 ripe avocado, diced
– 1 small tomato, diced
– 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
– 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped
– Juice of 1 lime
– Optional: Pinch of red pepper flakes for added heat

1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. While the grill is heating, prepare the tuna steaks. Pat them dry with a paper towel and brush both sides with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.

2. In a mixing bowl, prepare the avocado salsa. Add the diced avocado, diced tomato, chopped red onion, and fresh cilantro. Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture and gently toss to combine. If desired, add a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat. Set aside.

3. Once the grill is ready, place the seasoned tuna steaks on the grill. Cook for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side, depending on your preferred level of doneness. For a medium-rare finish, aim for an internal temperature of about 125°F.

4. Remove the tuna steaks from the grill and allow them to rest for a couple of minutes.

5. Serve the grilled tuna on plates topped with a generous scoop of avocado salsa. Enjoy your delicious, low-carb meal.
